TCG Card Shop Simulator is leaving Early Access on September 15, capping a run of just shy of two years that turned a solo-developed shop sim into one of Steam’s breakout hits. Developer OPNeon Games shared the date in a Steam announcement alongside a new trailer, thanking players for two years of ripped-open decks, stink spraying, store furnishing, and what the studio jokingly crossed out as accidental mooning.
One of the biggest features of the 1.0 update is something the community has been asking for since launch: the Tetramon TCG, the fictional card game at the center of your shop, becomes fully playable. Players will be able to build decks from their collected cards and battle CPU opponents, which changes the reason you’re cracking packs in the first place, since specific cards suddenly matter beyond filling out a binder. Full patch notes are coming closer to the launch date, and OPNeon says a special message from the developer about the update is on the way soon.
The 1.0 launch also takes the game beyond PC and XBOX for the first time, with PlayStation 5, Switch, and Switch 2 versions arriving September 15. TCG Card Shop Simulator has been available on Steam and XBOX Series X|S until now, including through XBOX Game Pass and XBOX Play Anywhere, and the console versions were confirmed to be in full production back in June with exclusive features promised.
The milestone caps a remarkable stretch for a game built by solo developer Ding Shen Sia, who said earlier this year, “I never imagined we’d reach 3.5 million players.” The game launched into Early Access on September 25, 2024, and picked up a nomination in the Sit Back and Relax category at the 2024 Steam Awards just three months later. One practical note for anyone still on the fence: OPNeon confirmed the price is going up once 1.0 arrives to reflect the added content, and the game’s final big Early Access sale is running now, so the next few weeks are the cheapest the game will ever be.
