Two years after its launch, Tales of Arise has announced it will receive a lengthy story expansion called Beyond the Dawn. It’s the first DLC in the Tales of series to directly continue the main story on such a scale, offering over 20 hours of new narrative and gameplay. Set in a world post the union of two worlds, the story introduces a new character, Nazamil. Alphen will naturally join forces again with the original Tales of Arise cast for this new journey. Nazamil, a girl of both Dahnan and Renan blood, is revealed to be the daughter of a Lord Featured in the main Arise storyline. Bandai Namco remains tight-lipped about which Lord, eagerly anticipating community speculations.
General Producer Yusuke Tomizawa unveiled details about Beyond the Dawn, set to launch on November 9, 2023, in a post on the PlayStation Blog. While the post contains spoilers for those unfamiliar with Tales of Arise, Tomizawa emphasized that even though Beyond the Dawn continues the main story, the team aimed for all players to experience the game with an “appropriate level of design.” To do this, a certain level of skills and other statuses are provided at the start of the story DLC, instead of transferring the characters and their levels/equipment from the main game. Instead, players will have bonuses such as money and skill points, based on the clear data of the main game.
The expansion will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
