Stellar Blade developer, Shift Up, continues to impress with its continued support of the game. Tomorrow, December 17, the game will receive a free update that adds holiday cheer to Xion. Along with festive lights and a Christmas tree, the camp will also offer seasonal tunes Dawn (Winter) and Take Me Away to create a more relaxing atmosphere. The surprise gift for the update is a new mini-game that will offer rewards including a Santa Dress for Eve and the “I’m No Santa” costume for Adam.

Costumes wouldn’t be complete without the right accessories, so players will unlock the Santa Girl hairstyle, Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs. Even the Drone will receive its own gifts for the holiday season, including a Rudolph Pack cosmetic featuring a red nose and cute horns. The update will also add a toggle for the seasonal events and the NieR: Automata DLC content, so players can choose whether or not they’re active.

In my review of Stellar Blade, I found the game to be part brilliant and part frustrating, but came away impressed with Shift Up’s first attempt at a AAA title. If you are a fan of precise combat games with soulslike mechanics, it is highly recommended.
