SteelSeries has announced its all-new DeX mousepad at Gamescom 2014. The DeX mousepad is constructed from a low-friction polymer material, while its surface features a unique 3D optical pattern designed to provide a “superior level of tracking accuracy for all applications,” according to the company. Underneath the polymer material is a heavy silicone base to help keep the DeX mousepad anchored in place. Heat-sealed edges also ensures that the mousepad doesn’t fray with use.
The SteelSeries DeX mousepad will be available for pre-order this fall and will be priced at $39.99.
“We designed this for gamers who prefer to have a low friction surface that want and prefer a fast glide; it’s a very different feel from our QcK family of surfaces,” said Tino Soelberg, SteelSeries CTO. “In addition to how it feels and glides, the DeX could very well be the last surface they will ever need to buy with its incredible durability.”
