We’re nearing the end of the year, which means every gaming platform is sharing year-in-reviews with their players. Xbox kicked things off earlier this month with PlayStation following a little over a week later. PC gamers on Steam can now get their Steam Replay 2024, which kicks off by giving players a summary of the total games they played, achievements unlocked, a breakdown of keyboard + mouse or controller, and three of their most popular games. Some players’ year-in-reviews may look a bit different depending on their statistics, as some people I know had a slide showing their longest streak of playing on Steam.
Steam then compares your statistics to the rest of the Steam community, which may either make you feel really good or really awful. According to the data, the Steam median for achievements unlocked is 13, games played is four, and the streak is six days. The Steam Replay then gives you data on the percentage of time you spent playing news releases compared to recent and classic games. There’s also a spider graph with a visual breakdown on the kinds of games you spent the most time playing in the year. My categories were Action RPG, JRPG, Automation, Online Co-Op, Open World Survival Craft, and Action Roguelike.
The year-in-review then provides a breakdown of all your top played games, including the percentage of total playtime, sessions played, and day streak for each. You can then get a chart of playtime by month and data on how your playtime was split between Windows and Steam Deck, if you play on a Steam Deck.
