If you’re opening a Switch 2 for Christmas, Stardew Valley has another gift for you. Developer ConcernedApe has released the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Stardew Valley today, and it’s available on the Nintendo eShop for $14.99 if you’re not one of the millions who already own the game. If you already own it on Nintendo Switch, there’s a free upgrade pack for the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. The Switch 2 Edition includes mouse controls and four-player split-screen co-op, as well as GameShare support, meaning up to four friends can play together if one person has the game.

Stardew Valley is one of the best indie success stories in gaming. Originally created by solo developer ConcernedApe, the cozy farming game has gone on to sell over 41 million units as of December 2024, since its release in February 2016. Support for the game has also been fantastic over the years, another big reason why it’s been so successful.
