Hazelight Studios has confirmed that its latest game, Split Fiction, has sold one million units in its first 48 hours. It’s an impressive start for a strictly co-op game, especially since it offers a Friends Pass, meaning a friend gets to play for free as long as one of the two people owns a copy of the game. Still, Split Fiction has a long way to go before it can top Hazelight’s last game, It Takes Two, which also won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2021. It Takes Two has sold over 23 million units, while Hazelight’s first game, A Way Out, sold over 11 million units.

We spent Thursday and Friday enjoying every bit of Split Fiction, and we absolutely loved our experience. In our review, we praised the game for its seemingly endless creativity, and it may very well be the best co-op game we’ve ever experienced. If you have someone to play the game with, we highly recommend giving it a try. It’s mainly an action platformer, but there’s plenty of gameplay variety from beginning to end.
