At long last, Slay the Spire 2 has announced its Early Access date: March 5, 2026. Yes, that’s the same day as Pokémon Pokopia, so if you’re in the middle of the Venn diagram for both games, like I am, you’ll have to juggle both or pick one. The long-awaited sequel to arguably the genre-defining roguelike deckbuilder, Slay the Spire 2 features a new and returning cast of characters with their own cards, motives, and even secrets.

The biggest surprise, though, and one we’re extremely excited to hear about, is that Slay the Spire 2 will offer up to four-player support in an all-new co-op mode. That means multiplayer-specific cards, team synergies, and much more. Considering how much we enjoy playing games together, the idea of co-op Slay the Spire sounds amazing. We have spent many hours playing Across the Obelisk and HELLCARD, but something about that Slay the Spire formula is just one of a kind.
