Silent Hill: Townfall launches September 24, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and PC. Konami revealed the date during PlayStation’s June 2 State of Play alongside a new trailer showing fresh gameplay and a new character. It is the third straight year Konami has released a Silent Hill game in the fall, following Silent Hill 2 in 2024 and Silent Hill f in 2025.
The trailer puts a face and name to the voice heard on the CRTV in the game’s February reveal: Zoe, an inhabitant of St. Amelia who works as a nurse at a local family clinic. She is shown calling for protagonist Simon to return to the island while asking him what he is doing there. According to developer Screen Burn Interactive, St. Amelia is a place Simon does not recognize, and Zoe is someone he has not encountered before.
Screen Burn also detailed the game’s narrative-driven puzzles, which are written alongside the story so that their setups and solutions reveal part of it. Rather than a separate gameplay layer, the puzzles are meant to help players understand Simon’s situation as they progress. The trailer offers a first look at a new creature stalking Simon in the Otherworld. Combat matters against some enemies, while others call for stealth and evasion, using the CRTV and a peek mechanic to stay out of sight. Being spotted can trigger a chase with dire consequences.
On PlayStation 5, the game leans on the DualSense Wireless Controller, with adaptive triggers that mimic the feel of firearms and haptic feedback that rumbles as a creature’s footsteps approach while the player hides. It also includes motion-controlled elements, such as twisting the CRTV to tune weak signals for better reception.
Silent Hill: Townfall is available for preorder now on PlayStation Store in Standard and Deluxe Editions. Preordering the Standard Edition includes the “CRTV: Rusted” and “CRTV: Beach Edition” cosmetics, which change the look of the CRTV. The Deluxe Edition adds a “Simon’s Outfit: Alternate” skin, a Bonus Application containing an interactive artbook and digital soundtrack, and 48-hour early access.
