Rocket League is heading to the Xbox One early next year, it was revealed last night during The Game Awards 2015. Psyonix’s car-based soccer game was released earlier this year on the PlayStation 4 and PC to much acclaim and the Xbox One version will include at least two special cars themed after Gears of War and Halo. In the announcement trailer, it showed off a Gears of War Armadillo and a Halo Hogsticker, which you can see above.

The game went on to win the award for Best Indie Game and Best Sports/Racing Game and was also nominated for Best Multiplayer at The Game Awards 2015. Nintendo’s Splatoon went on to win Best Multiplayer.
Unfortunately Rocket League will not have cross-platform play as the game’s official Twitter account confirmed that “The Xbox platform doesn’t allow for crossplay matchmaking between other systems as a general practice across all titles.”
