Sony’s PlayStation Showcase last week was a bit of a mixed bag, since we saw very few first-party announcements. Interestingly, PlayStation announced earlier today that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is heading to PC July 26, 2023. Sony probably didn’t make this announcement during the PlayStation Showcase since it’s not directly related to the PlayStation 5 console, but it does fuel to the rumors that Sony held some debuts from its own event. Either way, it’s another first-party title from Sony that is heading to PC and hopefully this one will perform better than problematic PC port of The Last of Us Part I.

In a blog post announcing Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart for PC, PlayStation shared some of the features heading to the port, which was handled by Nixxes Software. The PC version features ray-traced reflections with a variety of quality levels to choose from, including newly added ray-traced shadows for natural light in outdoor areas. The game also supports ultrawide monitors, including 21:9, 32:9, and up to 48:9 resolution for triple monitor setups. Not only has the gameplay been optimized for ultrawide screens, but the cutscenes have been as well.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart also supports unlocked framerates on PC and players can choose from NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 2, Intel XeSS, and Insomniac Games’ Temporal Injection. Also supported are NVIDIA Reflex and image quality enhancing NVIDIA DLAA. Obviously, the game has full mouse and keyboard support (in addition to controller support) but it will have customizable controls. When using a DualSense controller with a wired USB connection, players will experience haptic feedback and dynamic trigger effects.

The game will be available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store, and preordering provides access to the following in-game items early in the playthrough: Pixelizer weapon and Carbonox Armor set. The PC version also includes five sets of armor from the Digital Deluxe Edition and the 20th Anniversary Armor Pack, as well as an additional five sets of armor inspired by previous games in the series.
