The PlayStation Vita price drop has become official, despite the fact that some retailers have already jumped the gun by putting the portable gaming system on sale for $199.99. Sony has announced at its Gamescom 2013 press conference that the price reduction is now permanent and all other retailers will have the Vita available for $199.99 in the U.S. Sony also confirmed that price drops are coming for the Vita memory cards – finally!
Though the PlayStation Vita’s lineup has been relatively weak since its debut, there are a ton of indie titles coming for the portable gaming system, and the Vita price drop will surely appeal to Borderlands 2 fans, now that it’s been revealed the first-person shooter will be heading to the Vita.
