Unity for PlayStation Vita is now available to developers, allowing them to easily port their games already created with the engine over to the handheld PlayStation console. Unity 4.3 will enable developers to integrate the full suite of PSN features to their games including Trophies, Friends and Matching functionality. According to the company, version 4.3 can create both 2D and 3D games, animate almost anything with the native animation system Mecanim and implement “very cool graphics.”
The Unity engine can also take advantage of the Vita’s motion sensors, front and rear cameras, dual analog sticks and rear touch pad.
Expect plenty of indie games that were developed for mobile platforms in Unity to get ported over to the Vita in the near future.
