Sony has announced the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog December 2023 lineup, with all titles playable starting December 19. This month’s additions are headlined by Grand Theft Auto V (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5), just in case you aren’t one of the over 190 million units sold. Earlier this month, we finally got our first trailer for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI, which isn’t due out until 2025.

The next title is Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Developed by Team Ninja, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin’s popularity is more of a meme than a video game, where the protagonist, Jack, repeatedly mentions Chaos in various trailers. leading up to the game’s release. But it turned out to be one of our favorite games of 2022 because the co-op was immensely fun as a group. The game does have its fair issues, including boring maps and graphic fidelity that seems a generation old, but it’s a great time if you have others to play with.

Next on the list is Moto GP23 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. In the latest entry of the Moto GP series, players choose from four championship classes and step into the shoes of their favorite rider. Metal Hellsinger (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5) is another game I really enjoyed in 2022. This rhythm-action shooter features a heavy-metal soundtrack and puts a fun spin on the rhythm-music genre.

Players looking for a soulslike 2D Metroidvania will likely enjoy Salt and Sacrifice, available on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Salt and Sacrifice is the follow-up to Salt and Sanctuary and features full online co-op with a friend. Another 2D experience joining the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in December is Moonscars (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5). Set in an unforgiving, non-linear 2D world, Moonscars blends soulslike with Metroidvania, much like Salt and Sacrifice.

Mega Man fans can enjoy the latest entry in the series as Mega Man 11 (PlayStation 4) is also part of the lineup. Featuring a new double-gear system, Mega Man 11 features a variety of extra modes including time trials and missions, global leaderboards, and more. Previously available on the Epic Games Store, GigaBash (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5) is joining the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog this month. Combining the chaos and creativity of games like Power Stone and War of Monsters, GigaBash puts players in control of giant creatures ranging from a rampaging Titan to a Titan-hunting mecha in this multiplayer arena brawler.

Yet another soulslike Metroidvania, Grime (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5) is fast and unforgiving, set in a world of anatomical horror and intrigue. For something more casual, Tinykin (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5) fits the bill. In this game, players take on the role of Milo who arrives on Earth to find he’s way too small. He teams up with the mysterious tinykin and use their unique powers to explore and find a way home while unraveling Earth’s biggest mystery.

If you’re looking for a first-person shooter heavily influenced by classics like Doom II and Quake, you should enjoy Prodeus. Featuring a campaign, co-op, and competitive multiplayer modes, Prodeus (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5) also offers a fully integrated level editor and a built-in community map browser for nearly limitless play. Finally, three Shadowrun games will be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5: Shadowrun Returns, Shadowrun: Dragonfall – Director’s Cut, and Shadowrun: Hong Kong – Extended Edition.

PlayStation Premium subscribers will also get access to the following classics: Mega Man Legacy Collection (PlayStation 4), Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 (PlayStation 4), Thrillville (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5), Thrillville: Off the Rails (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5), and Buzz Lightyear of Star Command (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5).
