After an outage that lasted around 20 hours from Friday to Saturday, PlayStation Network confirmed it was fully back online on Saturday evening. While it didn’t disclose details on the cause of the outage, it did say on social media that the outage was caused by an “operational issue.” As compensation, PlayStation Network members will get an additional five days of service to their subscription that will automatically be added to all plans.

This is the longest PlayStation Network outage since the one in April 2011, when the service was down for 23 days due to a massive security breach. That issue resulted in a leak of user data for 77 million subscribers. It’s still unclear if anything malicious occurred during the most recent outage, since PlayStation remained quiet throughout the entire time. For now, we’ll just have to trust Sony when it says it was just an operational issue.
