PlayStation console sales may outpace Xbox sales by a wide margin, but PlayStation still lags behind Xbox in terms of accessories. Xbox owners have a wide assortment of controller finishes to choose from, including our favorite Vapor Special Edition controllers. PlayStation, however, has been expanding its offering of finishes and the latest is the Midnight Black Collection, bringing the colorway to the PlayStation Portal, DualSense Edge, Pulse Elite, and Pulse Explore. These new accessories match the existing Midnight Black offerings already available, including the standard DualSense controller and console covers.

Along with the unique, rich shade of black, these accessories also feature sleek detailing on various buttons and accents. The finish can also be found on the included charging case for Pulse Explore, charging hanger for Pulse Elite, and carrying case for DualSense Edge. Those who purchase the Midnight Black Pulse Elite wireless headset or Pulse Explore wireless earbuds will get a felt gray carrying case. Pricing for each accessory is consistent with that of its standard counterpart.

  • PlayStation Portal Midnight Black: 199.99 USD | 219.99 EURO | 199.99 GBP | 34,980 YEN
  • Pulse Explore wireless earbuds Midnight Black: 199.99 USD | 219.99 EURO | 199.99 GBP | 34,980 YEN
  • Pulse Elite wireless headset Midnight Black: 149.99 USD | 149.99 EURO | 129.99 GBP | 22,980 YEN
  • DualSense Edge wireless controller Midnight Black: 199.99 USD | 219.99 EURO | 199.99 GBP | 34,980 YEN

The Midnight Black Collection officially launches on February 20, 2025, but preorders will begin on January 16 at 10:00 AM local time on direct.playstation.com. Participating retailers will also launch their preorders on the same date.
