It seems like Nintendo is growing fond of dropping trailers out of nowhere — like the release date announcement for Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed — and today, the company released a trailer for the upcoming Pikmin 4. Now, this week we do have plenty of summer gaming events, including Summer Game Fest, so it’s not a huge surprise that announcements and reveals are already debuting. But, it is interesting that Nintendo released a new trailer for one of its biggest remaining launches for the year (at least that we currently know of). So either the company doesn’t have a Nintendo Direct scheduled in the coming weeks, or it has even bigger announcements to make.
But we’re here to talk about the new Pikmin 4 trailer, which reveals a surprising character creator. Being able to make your own captain in the latest Pikmin game comes pretty unexpectedly and should be an exciting feature for both newcomers and veterans of the franchise.
Pikmin 4 is set to release July 21, 2023 exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. Remember, you can save on the game with Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers if you have an active Nintendo Online subscription.
