Palworld developer Pocketpair has announced a collaboration with Bushiroad for an official trading card game based on Palworld. Set to launch on July 30, 2026, the Palworld official card game is a two-player competitive game that will feature players deploying various unique Pals. It looks to be heavily inspired by the game itself, as players will not only fight with their Pal companions, but they’ll also have to gather resources and build bases to win. The Pals will have unique traits to give their cards special effects, as you’d expect from a trading card game.
While details on the gameplay are light, we can expect that many of the current Pals in the game will show up in the card game with traits similar to special abilities in the game. The game is being produced by Bushiroad, which, based on its website, is behind Cardfight!! Vanguard, Weiss Schwarz, and Shadowverse: Evolve. Since we do play various physical card games, we’re excited to see how Palworld is going to handle the mechanics and still feel unique. Obviously, it’s going to be an easy target again for being a Pokémon Trading Card Game clone, but competition is healthy.
Palworld is still dealing with a lawsuit from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company over alleged patent infringement. For now, the game continues to work toward its 1.0 release, and it recently got the Home Sweet Home update in December. One thing’s for sure, Palworld likely won’t be getting official LEGO products anytime soon, considering Pokémon finally revealed their sets today, January 12.
