Last month, Blizzard teased an Overwatch 2 collaboration with Persona 5, and now we know that the skins are going live tomorrow, September 16. While some Overwatch 2 fans are questioning whether the game should go the route of Fortnite with all these skins, the recent Street Fighter 6 collaboration was admittedly pretty cool. As for the Persona 5 collaboration, Wuyang, Genji, Lifeweaver, Mercy, and D.Va are getting skins based on the Phantom Thieves. Wuyang plays Joker or Ren, while Mercy is, fittingly, Panther or Ann. Lifeweaver wears Fox or Yusuke’s skin, and D.Va takes on Queen or Makoto, with her mech turning into Johanna, Makoto’s motorcycle Persona. Finally, Genji plays Skull or Ryuji.

It’s understandable that a Morgana skin wouldn’t exist, but it’s really disappointing that it’s just these five characters making an appearance. It’s been unfortunate how much Noir, or Haru, has taken a back seat to the rest of the cast, and Persona 5 Royal’s Violet, or Kasumi (Sumire), is nowhere to be seen these days. I’m surprised they didn’t bother with Futaba either; it seems like she would’ve fit in nicely with Widowmaker’s theme, at least with the fancy eyewear. And yes, I know she’s not exactly combative, but still.

The skins will be available from September 16 to September 30. There will, of course, be some free items in the form of sprays, weapon charms, and player icons for those who don’t feel like spending any money on skins.
