In an unprecedented move, Origin has now announced its Great Game Guarantee program that will allow gamers to return EA full game downloads purchased on the service for a full refund. Clearly building off the success of its Humble Bundle, which has sold over 1.5-million bundles with eight days still remaining, Origin is perhaps offering something gamers have always wanted. The fine print to the guarantee isn’t even that bad: You can return a game within 24 hours after you first launch the game, within seven days from when you purchased it, or within the first seven days after the game’s release date if you pre-ordered it.
Requesting a refund is even easy. You simply visit your order history and click the “request a refund” link to your recent purchase. After answering a few questions, EA and Origin will take over from there. The Origin Great Game Guarantee goes into effect immediately as of today in 20 countries, and will be rolled out to everyone by the end of next month.
Your move, Steam.
