Oblivion is coming to a Nintendo console for the first time, with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered set to land on Switch 2 on August 11, 2026. It is the same overhaul of Bethesda’s 2006 open-world RPG that arrived on other platforms last year, rebuilt with modern visuals and a long list of quality-of-life tweaks, this time built for Nintendo’s hardware.
Like the original release, the Switch 2 version is essentially the complete edition. It bundles the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine expansions along with the game’s smaller add-ons, all in one package. It comes in a Standard Edition and a Deluxe Edition, with the Deluxe adding bonus Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon armor, weapon, and horse armor sets, available either digitally or as a physical cartridge that holds the full base game. Players who already own the digital base game can buy a Deluxe upgrade to grab those extras.
Beyond the new platform, the Switch 2 version leans on the system’s motion controls, letting you swing and aim through combat directly rather than on sticks alone. The rest is the Oblivion that fans have replayed for two decades, set across the province of Cyrodiil as you close the gates of Oblivion and stand against the forces of Mehrunes Dagon.
