In a recent Famitsu interview, Eiji Aonuma, the Producer of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Director Hidemaro Fujibayashi, confirmed that the team has no plans to release additional content for the game and that they feel like they’ve done all they can to create fun in that world. This suggests that we’ve likely seen the last of this version of Hyrule.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild received an expansion pass, including two DLC packs: The Master Trials and The Champions’ Ballad. Given that Tears of the Kingdom has sold over 18 million units, it’s surprising that Nintendo isn’t pursuing DLC.
In my review of Tears of the Kingdom, I found that the game reminds me of what a video game should be, with nearly endless possibilities that are limited only by your creativity.
