During today’s State of Play, Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo Games officially announced that Nioh 3 will release on PlayStation 5 and PC on February 6, 2026. As the third entry in the dark samurai action-RPG series, Nioh 3 aims to bring a more open-field feel to the game, allowing players to freely explore their surroundings. As in previous games, players will take on powerful yokai and the ominous presence of “the Crucible.”

The game will also evolve its combat system by offering seamless switching between two combat styles: Samurai and Ninja. The Samurai style appeals to players who want to take enemies head-on, while the Ninja style focuses on quick movements and special techniques. It’s a bit like what Assassin’s Creed Shadows did earlier this year, except that it merges both approaches into one character instead of two.
