Tomorrow, April 2, we’ll finally get the full details on the successor to the Switch with the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. Nintendo has confirmed that the broadcast will run for around 60 minutes, which is similar in length to the original Switch’s reveal. As a reminder, the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct is on April 2 and starts at 6:00 AM Pacific (9:00 AM Eastern). Our sources have confirmed that the console will release before July, though rumors have it releasing around June. Tomorrow’s Switch 2 Direct should answer all the remaining questions, including what the new “C” button does, whether the console is capable of 4K, whether original Switch titles will get upgrades, the release date, and most importantly, its price. We’ll also get to see how Nintendo plans to utilize the Joy-Con as a mouse, similar to the Lenovo Legion Go’s TrueStrike controller.
Following the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, there will be a pair of Nintendo Treehouse: Live events on April 3 and April 4, featuring hands-on gameplay of Nintendo Switch 2 games. Both broadcasts will start at 7:00 AM Pacific each day. This week will surely be exciting for Nintendo fans, given the success of the current Switch, which has sold nearly 151 million units as of February.
Last week, Nintendo held a Direct focused on Switch games, where we got a better look at Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, announced a new Tomodachi Life game, and introduced Virtual Game Cards.
