There is a lot to love about the NieR universe — I do have NieR:Automata on the list of the best games I’ve ever played — and the soundtracks are one of the standout features from both Replicant and Automata. Square Enix, recognizing the importance of music to its video games, has been hosting concerts related to Final Fantasy for over a decade now, starting with Distant Worlds. Now, NieR is getting its own concert tour in 2024 with eight announced stops, so far.
The NieR:Orchestra Concert 12024 [ the end of data ] (it wouldn’t be NieR if it didn’t have a strange name) will be worldwide and here are the announced dates:
- Los Angeles – Saturday, January 27, 2024 – 8 to 10pm at Peacock Theater
- Chicago – Saturday, February 3, 2024 – 8 to 10pm at Rosemont Theatre
- Berlin – Saturday, February 10, 2024 – 8 to 10pm at Tempodrom
- Barcelona – Saturday, February 17, 2024 – 8 to 10pm at Auditori Fòrum
- Paris – Friday, February 23, 2024 – 8 to 10pm at Palais des Congrès
- Bangkok – Saturday, March 16, 2024 – 4 to 6pm at Prince Mahidol Hall
- Bangkok – Sunday, March 17, 2024 – 4 to 6pm at Prince Mahidol Hall
- Orlando – Saturday, March 30, 2024 – 8 to 10pm at Dr. Phillips Center
The live music experience is being put on by AWR Music Productions with symphony orchestra and chorus under the direction of conductor Eric Roth, which may be a familiar name for those who have attended past Square Enix concerts. Original NieR series singers Emi Evans and J’nique Nicole are part of the tour. Each concert will have a specially created program with HD video projections from NieR series director Yoko Taro and composer Keiichi Okabe.
Finally, Square Enix also announced that each concert will feature a recorded reading by 2B (Kira Buckland) and 9S (Kyle McCarley) in a new episode written by Yoko Taro.
