New Hearthstone Game Mode Teased by Blizzard

Blizzard is teasing a new Hearthstone game mode on its social media pages, posting an animated gif that shows the fourth slot on the main menu being unlocked. Unfortunately, the label is blank and there’s no hint as to what Blizzard has in store for the new Hearthstone game mode. Speculation from fans ranges from 2v2 to a Tournament mode, although Blizzard has gone on the record saying that 2v2 wouldn’t be coming anytime soon, if at all.

Other ideas could be a ladder mode with special rules, custom games, replay function or achievements. Considering that there’s limited real estate to the main menu for the game, the teaser is likely for something major rather than something that’s purely cosmetic or for stat-tracking purposes. It’s not clear when Blizzard plans on spilling more details on the new Hearthstone mode, but it should be in the coming days as we head into E3 2015. When it comes to Hearthstone teasers, Blizzard has typically announced what’s coming shortly after releasing a teaser.
