Believe it or not, Monster Hunter Wilds is getting ready to celebrate its first anniversary. Those festivities kick off on February 18, when Monster Hunter Wilds gets its next major title update that adds 10-star Arch-tempered Arkveld, the winners of the Original Weapon and Pendant Design contest, new weekly event quests, and numerous events throughout February and March. In addition, those who missed previous Festival of Accord events can revisit them during the anniversary event. Blossomdance returns from February 18 to February 25, followed by Flamefete from February 25 to March 4. Dreamspell’s rerun is scheduled from March 4 to March 12, while Lumenhymn finishes things from March 12 to March 19.

Monster Hunter Wilds will also get a collaboration event for the release of Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. The event will include the one-of-a-kind Royal Palico Rudy Costume α Palico equipment and special Monstie-themed pendants.

The more exciting news came during the 1st anniversary message, with game producer Ryozo Tsujimoto confirming that Capcom is working on a large-scale expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds, similar to Monster Hunter: World’s Iceborne and Monster Hunter Rise’s Sunbreak. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until summer to hear more about it, but this is typically when Monster Hunter games get really good, at least for players who seek more difficult content.

We really enjoyed Monster Hunter Wilds when it initially launched last year, quickly spending over 60 hours in the game as a group. We did bounce off of it sooner than expected, mainly because of ongoing performance issues on PC. We are looking forward to going back whenever the expansion launches, though, as we definitely find Monster Hunter to be a great time when we’re all playing together.
