Our most anticipated game of the year, Monster Hunter Wilds, is just around the corner, with a February 28 release date. During today’s State of Play, Capcom debuted the game’s launch trailer and already confirmed additional free content is on the way. For those who played Monster Hunter: World and Monster Hunter Rise, you know that games in the series are supported for years after launch. For Monster Hunter Wilds, players will get Event Quests a week after launch, which will reward in-game armor with a special appearance. The first Free Title Update will launch sometime in spring, adding the monster Mizutsune for players to hunt. In addition, the team confirmed that Monster Hunter Wilds will get a day one patch to be PlayStation 5 Pro enhanced.
Today’s launch trailer also gave us a good look at some of the other monsters we can expect in the latest mainline entry in the storied franchise. Jin Dahaad looms over the Iceshard Cliffs, while Nu Udra will be found at the top of the ecosystem in the Oilwell Basin. The game also teased a very different-looking Rathalos and gave another look at Arkveld, which players have already been taking on during the most recent Open Beta Test.
