Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is set to receive its fifth free title update on April 20, 2023. Announced during today’s Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak digital event, Free Title Update 5 adds two challenging new monsters: Risen Shagaru Magala and Amatsu, the Looming Calamity. In addition, the Anomaly Investigations level cap has been increased, two Risen Elder Dragons will be added to Anomaly Research Quests, new Special Investigations, and an update to the Melding Pot. Capcom also announced that more Event Quests are on the way.
Amatsu is a fearsome Elder Dragon that has the ability to bend the weather to its will. It is joined by Risen Shagaru Magala, which has used its overwhelming power to dominate the Qurio, infecting it to achieve an even more fearsome form. The former will be available from MR10, while the latter is unlocked at MR180.
With the new Anomaly Investigation level cap of 300, players can now face even more challenges along with two additional Risen Elder Dragons in Anomaly Research Quests. The afflicted materials that are gathered during those hunts can be used with the new Qurious Melding feature for even more skill customization. Get those upgrades before tackling the new Special Investigations that unlock after completing an Anomaly Investigation at level 300.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is currently available on the Nintendo Switch, but will head to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on April 28. At launch, the expansion will contain content up to Free Title Update 3. The following updates will be made sometime after summer 2023.
