The latest Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 update, version 1.002, is now live. It introduces New Game+, Mission Replay, the option to change the time of day, and new accessibility features such as Screen Reader, Audio Descriptions, and more. In addition, the update brings free Hellfire Gala suits for both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, along with the option to purchase the Gameheads Fly N’ Fresh Suit Pack.
With New Game+, players now have the opportunity to replay Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on a harder difficulty, with all suits and abilities carrying over. New Game+ also offers more to unlock, including Ultimate Levels, Golden Gadget styles, and more. Along with the free Hellfire Gala suits, the recent update also adds suit styles for several of Peter’s symbiote story suits. Players can further customize Peter’s look and can even set which color the symbiote abilities are. Photo Mode also gets an update with a new action figure mode and stickers. The new time of day feature allows players to capture perfect photos with the ideal lighting.
As for the Gameheads Fly N’ Fresh Suit Pack, these two new suits are available from March 7 to April 5 for $4.99. PlayStation will donate the entire purchase price of each Fly N’ Fresh Suit Pack sold in the U.S. to Gameheads, up to $1 million. For those unfamiliar, Gameheads is a tech training program aimed at equipping young people of color with the necessary tech and life skills for academic success. The organization focuses on low-income youth and youth of color ages 15 to 24 in the Bay Area. Insomniac added that the Fly N’ Fresh Suit Pack will be available at no additional cost to all players at a later date.
To celebrate the new update, two new trailers have been released. The first is a Game of the Year trailer, celebrating its nomination at The Game Awards 2023 and showcases some of the new features in today’s update. The second trailer showcases the Fly N’ Fresh Suit that’s available for $4.99.
While I did enjoy my time with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, I found the sequel to be a bit on the safe side.
