First revealed last June, MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is now slated to release on August 6, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC. The announcement of the release date was accompanied by the unveiling of the Unbreakable X-Men, which includes Storm, Magik, Wolverine, and Danger. Some might be a bit surprised by the picks, but developer Arc System Works said that due to a recent battle, many of the core X-Men members have been forced to withdraw from the front lines. Maybe we’ll see them later, once the game launches, as new character additions.

When the game launches, the standard edition costs $59.99 (€69.99 / ¥7,980), and it also includes Episode Mode. The game mode has been developed in collaboration with Marvel Games, adapting the narrative, world, and characters specifically for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. It’ll blend American comics and Japanese manga into a new form of storytelling, and Arc System Works says it collaborated with a renowned writer from the original Marvel comics to build the world and write the scenario.

Players will experience the story through motion comics centered around manga illustrations by celebrated artists. The game will also support full voice acting across 10 different languages (English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Latin American Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Mandarin). The music and audio will also support spatial audio with PlayStation 5’s Tempest 3D AudioTech.

Those who preorder will receive the Infinity Gauntlet (Lobby Equipment), Baby Groot (Lobby Pet), and the Cosmic Surfboard (Lobby Ride). The game will also be available in a Digital Deluxe Edition ($84.99 / €94.99 / ¥10,480) that adds a Year 1 Characters & Stage Pass, which includes four additional playable characters and one playable stage released after launch. Players also get Howard the Duck (Lobby Avatar) and Cosmo (Lobby Pet) cosmetics. At the top of the range is the Ultimate Edition ($99.99 / €109.99 / ¥11,980) that includes the Digital Deluxe Edition and costumes for Storm, Captain America, Doctor Doom, Iron Man, and Spider-Man. Players also get an Animated Chromatic color unlock for all 20 launch characters.
