August 14 is a busy day for the Mafia series, with three separate things arriving at once. The big news is Mafia: The Omertà Collection, a bundle that puts all four mainline entries in one package, arriving the same day as the Man of Honor expansion for Mafia: The Old Country and a modern console release of Mafia: Definitive Edition.
The Omertà Collection covers four distinct eras of organized crime, running from Sicily in 1904 through Lost Heaven in 1930, Empire Bay in 1943, and New Bordeaux in 1968. Here’s what’s inside:
- Mafia: The Old Country Definitive Edition | includes the Man of Honor expansion and Deluxe Edition content | PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC only
- Mafia: Definitive Edition | the PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X|S versions run at 60 FPS with technical improvements
- Mafia II: Definitive Edition | includes all DLC
- Mafia III: Definitive Edition | includes all DLC
Pricing is where things get less straightforward, because 2K hasn’t given a number. The collection launches at an introductory price that runs until August 28 on Steam and PlayStation 5, and August 25 on XBOX Series X|S, with 2K pointing people to their platform storefront for regional specifics. For existing owners, Steam applies its Complete Your Collection pricing automatically, while anyone who owns Mafia, Mafia II, or Mafia III Definitive Edition on PlayStation 4 or XBOX One gets a discount on the same platform, and owning The Old Country on PlayStation 5 or XBOX Series X|S gets you a bigger one. There’s a quirk on Sony’s side worth knowing about, since the collection won’t show up in the PlayStation Store on a PlayStation 4 at all. You’ll need a web browser or the PlayStation App to see it or claim the discount.
The Man of Honor expansion picks up in Sicily in 1905, months after Enzo Favara’s initiation into the Torrisi crime family. The Don assigns Enzo and Cesare to assist Ennio Salieri, recently out of prison and looking to reclaim what’s his, which pulls Enzo further into the Valle Dorata’s underworld. It adds two new story chapters plus exclusive Free Ride content, including high-stakes challenges, weapons, outfits, and items, and Hangar 13 Design Director Josh Zammit narrates the gameplay trailer walking through the Free Ride additions. The base game is required.
Anyone who bought the Deluxe Edition of The Old Country should note that it’s being retired. Mafia: The Old Country Definitive Edition takes its place and carries everything the Deluxe had plus more, bundling the base game, Man of Honor, the Padrino, Soldato, and Gatto Nero packs, and bonus materials that include a digital art book and the original score for both the base game and the expansion.
The last piece is Mafia: Definitive Edition finally making the jump to current hardware, bringing Tommy Angelo’s 1930s Lost Heaven story to PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X|S with 60 FPS gameplay and technical improvements. It’s a free upgrade if you already own it, with physical or digital PlayStation 4 owners getting the PlayStation 5 version through the PlayStation Store and digital XBOX One owners getting the XBOX Series X|S version through the Microsoft Store. XBOX One physical owners are excluded from that offer. Save files don’t carry over between generations either, so whichever version you upgrade to, Tommy’s rise through the Salieri family starts from the beginning again.
