One of the bigger surprises from the Xbox Games Showcase was the announcement of Life is Strange: Double Exposure and the return of Max Caulfield, the protagonist from the first Life is Strange title. This time, she’s back in a murder mystery when she finds her friend Safi murdered in one timeline, but alive in another. This is Max’s new ability, as she can now Shift between two parallel timelines.
To give us a deeper look at the game, Square Enix debuted the Life is Strange: Double Exposure reveal livestream. The broadcast included Deck Nine Game Director Jonathan Stauder, Narrative Director Felice Kuan, host Elyse Willems, and Max’s voice actress Hannah Telle. The developers shared more details on how they approached this new story for Max, while Telle shared her thoughts on the emotional journey from the Max of the past to the Max of the present day.
The event featured new in-game footage, behind-the-scenes stories, and an extended gameplay showcase from Chapter 1. Life is Strange: Double Exposure is set to release on October 29 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
