The popular Lemmings franchise is heading to the PlayStation Vita as Lemmings Touch, a game being developed by d3t Ltd. The developer was responsible for the PlayStation Mobile version of Lemmings and has looked forward to taking advantage of the PlayStation Vita’s hardware and its touchscreen.

Which is why the “touch” functionality will be implemented throughout Lemmings Touch and its 100 levels. The company promises that the game will feature a “beautiful touch and swipe interface that’s very intuitive and easy to use.” In addition to the revamped control scheme, it appears that d3t has a few tricks up its sleeves to breath new life into the lovable Lemmings. As you can tell by the above screenshot, the levels are going to be vibrant and colorful, full of life. There’s even going to be space levels where the Lemmings will encounter UFOs and rockets.

No release date for Lemmings Touch has been announced yet.
