The LEGO Group’s collaboration with Nintendo has resulted in some of the coolest brick sets yet, including my personal favorite, the LEGO Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi set. The new LEGO Game Boy set might come in second place, though, when it launches on October 1, 2025. Available now for preorder, the LEGO Game Boy is a collectible 421-piece replica of the original Game Boy handheld at a near 1:1 scale. It features everything that made the Game Boy special, including the contrast adjustment and volume dial.

To make it even better, the set also comes with brick-built The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Super Mario Land Game Boy Game Paks that slide into the Game Pak slot. Builders can choose between the classic Nintendo start screen or one from either Game Pak to display at the front. The LEGO Game Boy set has a $59.99 price tag, and once built it measures over 5.5 inches high, 3.5 inches wide, and 1 inch deep. Unfortunately, there are no light, sound, or display play functions with the kit.

Most gamers are looking forward to LEGO Pokémon, which has been confirmed to launch in 2026. It represents a multi-year partnership between the two megabrands, and it’s surprising that it’s taken this long to get an official LEGO Pokémon set.
