After last night’s controversy involving GRIND and the team’s Futures Rewritten Ultimate clear being called into question, the Final Fantasy XIV community is recognizing Kindred as the official world’s first team. It’s an impressive victory, as Kindred was noticeably behind Lucrezia and Echo in Phase 5 progression, but the team executed a clean run to secure the clear. Lucrezia was a mere nine minutes behind Kindred on their clear, which means the team was in the middle of their pull when Kindred secured the kill. Third place went to DN, while Echo secured fourth, as the team decided to rest after over 20 hours of raiding.

Congratulations to all the teams that competed in the race, especially those who streamed their progress. It’s unfortunate that another Final Fantasy XIV Ultimate race has been marred by controversy. However, with the Echo x MogTalk production this year, it’s a positive step forward for the Final Fantasy XIV raiding community and hopefully it can continue to grow from here.
