New Line Cinema’s Mortal Kombat II has released its official trailer, showcasing Karl Urban in the role of Johnny Cage. Hitting theaters on October 24, 2025, Mortal Kombat II sees director Simon McQuoid returning to the franchise after the 2021 movie. The sequel’s screenplay comes from Jeremy Slater. Once again, champions will assemble to take on the Mortal Kombat Tournament in a bid to take down Shao Kahn, who continues to threaten Earthrealm. We’ll also get our dose of Scorpion and Bi-Han, since no Mortal Kombat movie would be complete without their rivalry.
Joining Urban in Mortal Kombat II are Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson as Kano, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, Lewis Tan as the original character Cole Young, Damon Herriman as Quan Chi, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Martyn Ford as Shao Kahn, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han, and Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi and Scorpion.
