Before Agent 47 became the polished sandbox icon of the modern World of Assassination era, he got his start in a rougher, grimmer run of games from the early 2000s, and those are the ones getting the remaster treatment. Saber Interactive and IO Interactive have announced Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered, a collection bundling Hitman: Codename 47, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, and Hitman: Contracts. It launches in 2027 on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC via Steam, and is available to wishlist now.
Saber is handling the remaster under license from IO Interactive, the trilogy’s original developer. Each game gets upgraded character models, enhanced environments, and higher-resolution textures, along with a Photo Mode and an instant toggle that lets players switch between the remastered visuals and the original presentation on the fly.
It is the latest in a growing list of remaster work from Saber, which has previously handled the Tomb Raider I-III and IV-VI collections and Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered, among others. The studio frames the set as a look at how the series evolved, from the open-ended experimentation of Codename 47 to the more refined, darker stealth of Contracts.
These originals predate the reboot era that reshaped the series into the modern Hitman World of Assassination. Beyond the 2027 window, no release date has been set, and Saber says it will share more on features like Photo Mode later on.
