Prime Video has shared the first teaser trailer for the upcoming series Fallout, from the executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, known for their work on Westworld. “Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have,” reads the video’s description. “200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind — and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe waiting for them.”

The cast of Fallout includes notable actors such as Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins, and more. It launches April 12, 2024 on Prime Video.

This year, we’ve had some very successful video game adaptations including HBO’s The Last of Us and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Both of those were well received, a sharp contrast with the 2022’s Halo series. The teaser trailer shows the showrunners have at least nailed the aesthetics and it appears the show won’t be holding anything back.
