Slated for release in the first half of 2024 on PC, Frostpunk 2 has unveiled its first gameplay trailer. The sequel is set 30 years after the apocalyptic blizzard in the original Frostpunk, with Earth still overwhelmed by unending frost and a harsh, icy climate. In Frostpunk 2, players must build their city on a grander scale, creating entire districts each serving different purposes. Their goal is to ensure that all parts of the city function seamlessly together, while researching technologies that will steer the direction of their citizens’ progress.
The gameplay trailer focuses on the player’s role as a Steward, tasked with ensuring that the city doesn’t collapse due to conflicts within the Council. As the City grows, players will need to create and enact new laws, a task that naturally becomes more complex. Citizens will gradually divide into factions, each with different and potentially contradictory visions for the future.
Frostpunk 2 will be available on day one with PC Game Pass and will also be accessible on Xbox Game Pass upon its release on Xbox Series X|S. The game will also head to PlayStation 5.
