Avowed is shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated games of 2024, especially with the debut of its gameplay today at Xbox Games Showcase 2023. From Obsidian Entertainment, Avowed expands on the universe the company created for the original Pillars of Eternity games. The game’s goal is to bring a new perspective, a new way to fight, and a new land to explore in the world of Eora. In Avowed, players will explore the Living Lands, home to bustling port towns, mysteries, and secrets.

Like previous Obsidian Entertainment RPGs, Avowed will place a major focus on companions. The first companion gamers will find is Kai, who is the narrator in the gameplay trailer below. The game will feature first-person combat and players will have access to swords, shields, pistols, magical spells, and more at their disposal.

We only know that the game will release sometime in 2024, but it will be heading to Xbox Series X|S and PC. It will be available on day one with Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.
