Hearthstone’s Goblins vs. Gnomes Arrives Next Week

Hearthstone‘s first expansion, Goblins vs. Gnomes, will be released next week Blizzard has announced. It will first roll out in North America on Monday, December 8 before heading to Europe, Korea, Taiwan and China on December 9. The 120-card (collectible) expansion was first revealed at BlizzCon 2014 and the new cards will be obtainable from a separate set of card packs from the existing ones. Players will be able to purchase the packs with real money, 100 gold per pack or earn them through Arena runs as they’ll replace the current card packs. The new cards can also be crafted through dust. To differentiate the two different packs, Goblins vs. Gnomes card packs will have a different wrapper.

Blizzard also announced several changes heading to Hearthstone that will likely be in place for the expansion:

  • The Warlock spell card Soulfire now costs one mana versus the previous zero mana.
  • The neutral Gadgetzan Auctioneer minion card has moved from a five mana cost to six mana.
  • The Hunter spell Flare has increased from a one mana cost to two mana.
