The first Hearthstone expansion will add over 100 new cards to the game, Blizzard Entertainment revealed in an interview with Polygon. While the Curse of Naxxramas Hearthstone Adventure added 30 new cards to the game and changed the meta up quite a bit, the Hearthstone team is looking towards the future with its first real expansion which will feature a central theme and will be the next thing coming up for the highly successful free-to-play game.

In the same interview, Hearthstone production director Jason Chayes also revealed that the team is looking into adding new modes so that players can play Hearthstone in different ways, but it’s not coming anytime soon. It’s likely that Blizzard will reveal more details on the upcoming Hearthstone expansion at BlizzCon 2014 which kicks off in early November.
