The Hearthstone: Curse of Naxxramas class cards have been unveiled, giving us a glimpse into what we can expect when the Hearthstone adventure is released later this summer. Ever since Curse of Naxxramas was announced in April, Blizzard has been slowly releasing each of the new cards heading to each class with the single-player PvE adventure. The Curse of Naxxramas will add 30 new cards to Hearthstone, many of which revolve around the Deathrattle mechanic. Take a look below at all of the new Curse of Naxxramas class cards and neutral cards that Blizzard has revealed so far.
The Hunter will get a new one-mana cost drop that is a 1/1 unit with an interesting Deathrattle effect. According to Blizzard, the Webspinner will draw any random Beast card, regardless of whether or not it is in your deck. That means Hunters could get themselves a King Mukla or even a King Krush. Shaman’s Earth Shock value just went even higher! Our favorite card though is the Priest’s Dark Cultist, which gives a friendly minion +3 Health as its Deathrattle effect. It’s also a strong 3/4 drop for three mana – which Hearthstone currently doesn’t even have. This card will most certainly become a staple in Priest decks and should help boost the class significantly. The Warlock card is also a 3/4, but for four mana. Its Deathrattle is quite strong too, putting a Demon from your hand onto the battlefield. It’ll be interesting to see how Voidcaller changes Warlock decks, since it doesn’t really seem to fit either Zoo or Handlock.
The new Mage secret is definitely interesting and could make for some insane plays for the class. Whenever a friendly minion dies, the Mage will get two copies of it back into their hand which could be a complete game changer late game. Double Archmage Antonidas? Could wee see Malygos come back into play? Or perhaps a minion that has a real strong Battlecry to take advantage of Duplicate. The Shaman card has actually been renamed to Reincarnate rather than Rebirth. Its effect will remain the same as a two-mana cost spell that destroys the minion before returning it to life with full Health. Of course with all the new Deathrattle effects in play, Reincarnate could work wonders. Casting it on a Cairne Bloodhoof for example will leave you with two 4/5s on the board and a fresh Cairne. The Rogue class gets a 5/5 drop for four mana with a Deathrattle effect of returning a friendly minion to your hand. This could play well into Combo cards, essentially giving the Rogue a free Shadowstep.
It’s no surprise that the Warrior is getting a new weapon added to its arsenal. This time it will be a four-mana cost weapon with four attack and two durability that has a Deathrattle effect of dealing one damage to all minions. As a four cost, it’ll certainly bridge the gap between Fiery War Axe and Arcanite Reaper. The Paladin will be getting a new Secret called Avenge, that will give a friendly minion +3/+2 when one of the Paladin’s minions dies. Lastly, the Druid gets a four-mana cost Poison Seeds spell that destroys all minions and summons 2/2 Treants to replace them.
The neutral cards have been revealed since April, but now with the new class cards announced, it’s worth taking a look back at the effects these cards can have in combination with the class cards. The Nerubian Egg will definitely inspire some interesting combinations such as with the Shaman’s Reincarnate.
Of course everyone is excited to check out Baron Rivendare, which will trigger minions’ Deathrattles twice. Don’t be surprised to see a Token Shaman build that takes advantage of Baron Rivendare, Nerubian Egg and Reincarnate to summon a board full of 4/4s before hitting Bloodlust.
Hearthstone: Curse of Naxxramas does not yet have a release date, but it should be sometime later this summer. It will head to the PC and iPad versions of Hearthstone at the same time. Blizzard has only revealed half of the cards heading to the adventure so far.
