Hearthstone has captured the attention of 20-million players around the world, Blizzard has announced. The free-to-play virtual card game, which is based on Warcraft lore, was originally announced in March 2013 before entering open beta earlier this year. It was officially released in March 2014 for PC and Mac before heading to the iPad in April.

The game has captured the attention of competitor gamers worldwide, with tournaments being played on a weekly basis. Most recently, The Curse of Naxxramas Adventure added 30 new cards to Hearthstone and the company is currently working on making it compatible with iPhone and Android devices.
