Currently, I have Hades as my favorite game to play on Steam Deck, but that is likely going to change at the end of the month. Hades II is officially exiting Early Access on September 25, 2025, and will be available on Switch, Switch 2, and PC that day. The game entered Early Access on May 6, 2024, and is very much shaping up to be a wild success, just like its predecessor. In addition to announcing its release date, Supergiant Games confirmed that Hades II will offer cross-saves between Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and Steam versions. Those who have been playing in Early Access and want to pick up the game on Switch or Switch 2 can do so by transferring their save data through a simple in-game menu.

Hades II is the biggest game Supergiant has ever made and has been in development for over four and a half years. Several of us loved what we saw when the game first entered Early Access, though we’ve been patiently waiting for its full release to return. The month of September is already very crowded with games to play, so we’ll have to find a way to squeeze in another one with Hades II’s official launch.
