During last month’s State of Play Japan, Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi spilled the details on the Power Pack DLC, which promised to bring back 24-hour races to the series. The paid DLC will cost $29.99 USD and adds 50 new races across 20 themed categories, including 24-hour races, six unique cars specifically tuned by Gran Turismo, Gran Turismo Sophy 3.0, and 5,000,000 in-game Credits. It’s set to arrive on December 4 at 12:00 AM Pacific (3:00 AM Eastern) alongside the free Spec III Update 1.65, which brings eight new cars, two new tracks, and more.
Before we get into the details on the Power Pack DLC, let’s take a closer look at the free Spec III Update. In addition to new cars and tracks, players will be greeted with a new opening cinematic, which has been refreshed to show off some of the new content Gran Turismo 7 has received over the years. As for the eight vehicles all players will get, they’re a mix ranging from supercars to one of the most beloved JDM cars ever created.
- Ferrari 296 GT3 ’23
- Ferrari 296 GTB ’22
- FIAT Panda 30 CL ’85
- Gran Turismo F3500-B
- Mine’s BNR34 GT-R N1 base
- Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R ’97
- Polestar 5 Performance ’26
- Renault Espace F1 ’95

The two new tracks are the Yas Marina Circuit and Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. Neither track needs an introduction if you’re an automotive enthusiast; Yas Marina is the iconic circuit in Abu Dhabi. Meanwhile, Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve serves as a contrast to Yas Marina’s modern presentation, considering it first opened its doors in 1978. Its final chicane is one of the most famous in motorsports, leading into the now infamous “Wall of Champions,” which was named after three world champions who saw their races end there during the 1999 Canadian Grand Prix.
The Spec III Update also adds Dunlop to the roster of featured tire brands, as well as the Power Pack Pavilion to the World Map, which ties into the paid DLC. Before we cover the DLC’s contents, all players will also see their Collector Level cap raised from 50 to 70, several new events added to World Circuits, Mission Challenge and Time Trial events joining the Weekly Challenges, a new Data Logger feature, a new Seasonal Menu added to the Café as post-ending content, four Extra Menus in the Café, and four new featured Curations in Scapes (Yas Marina Circuit, Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, Tuning Shop, and Additional Light Location).

Those looking for even more content can get their hands on the highly-anticipated Power Pack DLC. The biggest feature is the introduction of full race sessions, which mirrors the structure of true motorsports. Instead of using cars from their own garage, some of these events put players behind the wheel of a specifically prepared event car. That’s where the importance of practice laps comes in before qualifying begins, which will determine your starting spot in the main event. The Power Pack DLC also adds the latest version of Gran Turismo Sophy, which is an advanced racing AI developed through a collaboration between Polyphony Digital, Sony AI, and Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE).
What’s going to interest anyone paying $29.99, though, are the 50 new events. These events are all inspired by the automotive traditions of Japan, Asia, Europe, and America, as well as Nürburgring-focused themes. You simply can’t have endurance races without muttering the word Nürburgring, after all. Some of the themed events include Hachiroku 80’s, Gran Turismo 300, The GTI, GT One, American Muscle Cars, Desert Beetle, Hakosuka ’70s, Gr.C Memories, FF Tuning Battle, 1000-Horsepower Tuning Battle, Nürburgring Tourist, and Nürburgring Gr.3.
As for the six special cars that are only available with the Power Pack, they are earned by getting Star rewards from races.

- Porsche 911 Turbo Rally (930)
