Gran Turismo 7’s Next Update Adds Movie Tie-ins

The Gran Turismo movie is now set to premiere in theaters on August 9, with early screenings in select regions. To celebrate the release of the movie, PlayStation is adding some new content to Gran Turismo 7 with the 1.36 update launching on August 7. A campaign will run from August 7 until September 28 and during that period, players can click on the special panel on the upper-right of the World Map screen to redeem the 2018 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 from the movie. In addition to the vehicle, a new livery has been added to recreate the GT-R as seen in the movie. Players can select the livery when purchasing the ’18 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 from Brand Central.

Four additional cars will be added as part of the update: Chevrolet Corvette C1 ’58, Maserati MC20 ’20, Toyota Ambulance Himedic ’21, and Toyota GR Corolla MORIZO Edition ’22. The GT Café is also getting three Extra Menus: Extra Menu No. 26: “Maserati” (Collector Level 40 and above), Extra Menu No. 27: “Aston Martin” (Collector Level 44 and above), and Extra Menu No. 28: “Kei cars” (Collector Level 27 and above). Scapes is also getting one new addition, with “Fire Station” added to the featured section.

Finally, to celebrate the World Series Showdown 2023 in Amsterdam running August 11 to August 12, two campaigns are being hosted to allow viewers to join in on the action. The World Series Showdown “Predict the Winners” Campaign will allow players to win in-game credits by correctly predicting the winning “Manufacturers Cup” and “Nations Cup” teams at the World Series Showdown. The World Series Showdown Viewers Gift Campaign will give players a 6-Star Roulette Ticket [Engine] and early access to the Toyota Ambulance Himedic. To get those gifts, players need to click the corresponding campaign banner in the top right corner of the Gran Turismo 7 world map screen and click the Manufacturers Cup and Nations Cup links, and watch the stream.
