Over the recent years, what was formerly known as the Yakuza series has grown a surprisingly large fanbase in the West. It’s now the “Like a Dragon” series, and one of the upcoming titles is Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. Set to launch on November 9 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name comes with a surprise that was revealed earlier today when Sega shared a developer update.
The game will include a special trial version of next year’s Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. At the end of the trailer that was revealed today, we see Kazuma Kiryu meeting up with Ichiban Kasuga, who is the protagonist in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. The news is confirmed by director Masayoshi Yokoyama, who said the trial version includes scenes that aren’t in the main game, so it’s likely a prequel of sorts.
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name follows the story of Kazuma Kiryu after the events of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life (2018) and before the events of Yakuza: Like a Dragon (2020) and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
