Steam Deck owners now have more ways to play, as NVIDIA has released a native app for its streaming service, GeForce NOW. Originally announced at CES 2025, the GeForce NOW app allows Steam Deck owners to stream titles at up to 4K 60 FPS while connected to a TV with support for HDR10, NVIDIA DLSS 4, and Reflex technologies. The biggest advantage of the streaming service is the ability to run games at settings and performance that just aren’t possible natively on the Steam Deck. Since it’s not pushing the hardware that much, NVIDIA claims users can enjoy up to 50 percent longer battery life when using the streaming service.
There are currently over 2,200 supported games on the platform, including recent top releases like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Monster Hunter Wilds, DOOM: The Dark Ages, and more. The service also supports over 180 PC Game Pass titles. Essentially, gamers are getting access to an RTX 4080 rig in the cloud. Naturally, you’ll need a good internet connection if you plan on streaming 4K gaming at 60 FPS. If you’re interested, you can download the native app here, while a step-by-step guide is on this support page.
If you don’t own a Steam Deck, NVIDIA is giving away two prize bundles to celebrate the release of its native app on the handheld device. You’ll want to keep an eye on the GeForce NOW social media channels for details on how to win. Also, there are several new titles heading to the service this week, including Tokyo Xtreme Racer and Torque Drift 2. Here’s the full list:
